About the Delegate Program
The Virginia Department of Taxation is ready to welcome you, with southern charm, to the 58th Annual Southeastern Association of Tax Administrators Conference.
Virginia has much to offer throughout the state, but the historic Williamsburg area where the conference will be held, is especially ripe with opportunities for learning about the history of our nation, playing world-class golf, bargain hunting in brand name outlets, and thrilling your child (or your inner child) at celebrated theme parks.
Sunday, July 13
- The conference festivities will begin with the golf tournament, which will be a four-man Captain's Choice with at least two flights, depending on the number of participants. The tournament will take place at the famous Kingsmill Resort and Spa River Course.
- Sunday night, delegates and guests will enjoy a buffet dinner and dessert reception featuring Virginia band The Taters, an eclectic roots-pop band that will have you tapping your toes till the rooster crows.
Monday, July 14
- Delegates will enjoy an official Colonial Welcome to kick off the day's meetings, which will include general sessions, a Commissioner's and Industry Council's Members Roundtable Discussion, Individual Income Tax Contacts Meeting for State Delegates. Delegates will also be treated to a great lunch with a speaker that is sure to entertain and "cook up" a memorable lunchtime experience.
Tuesday, July 15
- Delegates will participate in both general session and section breakouts on this day, to include speakers from both the private and public sector. Delegates are on their own for lunch, while the Industry Council and Executive Committee with Commissioners will have lunch meetings.
- Tuesday night will arrive before you know it, and with it comes the closing banquet, and Virginia band Spectrum, a 10-piece variety jazz-pop band that will make you wish you could linger just a little longer.
The Virginia Department of Taxation looks forward to hosting you and your families, and to the opportunity to share with our colleagues many of the things we love about our beautiful state. Virginia is truly for Lovers – lovers of history, lovers of learning, lovers of adventure and fun. There's something here for all of you, and we can't wait to take you on "A Blast from the Past" in July 2008.
