
Elyse M. Weigel was appointed to Deputy Commissioner of the Kentucky Department of Revenue on June 15, 2007. Prior to her appointment as Deputy Commissioner, she served as Director of Corporation Tax where she was able to use her expertise in accounting and law to lead the Division. Before joining the Department of Revenue, Weigel worked for the accounting firm Mountjoy & Bressler as a tax specialist in the areas of corporate, individual and estate and gift taxes. She earned her BS with a concentration in accountancy from the University of Louisville. She continued her education, earning a J.D. from the Cumberland School of Law, Samford University and an LL.M. in taxation from the University of Washington School of Law. She is currently a member of the Kentucky and Florida Bar Association.
